Nathaniel Ezekiel, National Record (NR) in the 400m hurdles has qualified for the World Athletics Championships to be held in Budapest.
Ezekiel, clocked a time of 48.52s, his best of the season, and well under the World Championships automatic qualification standard of 48.70s to finish 2nd at the Big 12 Championships at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was just 0.10s away from his NR as he finished behind Caleb Dean who won in a time of 48.39s.
Meanwhile, at the Mountain West Championships in California, Victor Akhalu clocked a new Personal Best (PB) of 10.28s (0.9) to finish 2nd in the men’s 100m final, setting a new School Record for the University of New Mexico.
Javin Bostic won the race in 10.25s.
Not too good for Favour Ofili, though she raced to a fast Season’s Best of 11.17s, the second fastest time by Nigerian female sprinter this season, but finished 5th in the women’s 100m final at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
