Following his unruly behavior, the World soccer governing body has banned the president of Federation of Cameroon Football ( FECAFOOT) Samuel Eto’o for 6 months.

He was banned from attending any match of the Cameroon’s men’s or women’s teams, in all categories, for six months.

FIFA cited a violation of articles 13 and 14 of the FIFA disciplinary code, as the reason for his ban.

“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o, with a six-month ban from attending matches of Cameroonian representative teams for violation of Articles 13 (Offensive behaviour and violation of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code ,” read an official note from the world body.

This sanction sounds like the beginning of a triumph for Eto’o’s detractors, who have continued to denounce the Douala native’s misconduct, including the manipulation of matches in the domestic championship for which he was cleared by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the association with a sports betting company for which he was fined around 185,000 euros by the African football governing body.
