World soccer governing body (FIFA) on Thursday released the latest ranking and it was a slide for Nigeria’s Super Eagles as they dropped in position.
The newest ranking indicated that Nigeria dropped down in 7 places to 34th position in the world and 5th in Africa.
Nigeria’s senior men’s side garnered 1480 points as against 1487 it recorded in the previous ranking.
Senegal remained the number top team in the continent and we’re ranked 21st in the World.
Carthage Eagles of Tunisia remained in the second spot and 28th in Africa while Africa champion Algeria climbed 12 places to 30th in the world and 3rd in Africa.
Super Eagles of Nigeria will have the opportunity to improve its ranking when the 2022 FIFA world cup qualifier resumed in September 2021.
