Raheem Sterling is not considering his Chelsea future just months after joining and committing his long-term future to the club.
Sterling remains happy at Stamford Bridge, following suggestions to the contrary, and there are no plans to review his position at the club in the summer.
England star Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer for £47.5m, signing a five-year deal.
He was the new ownership’s marquee addition in their first window, agreeing to leave the Etihad after fully buying into their long-term vision for the club and his position is unchanged.
The 28 year-old has seen the man who signed him, Thomas Tuchel, depart and be replaced by Graham Potter, but is understanding of all the upheaval, experimentation and instability there has been at Chelsea while the club have been undergoing their rebuild this season.
Sterling, Chelsea’s joint top scorer so far this campaign, racked up six goals and two assists before a hamstring injury suffered against City and then a knee knock picked up in training briefly sidelined him and interrupted his season.
But his immediate focus has been on returning to full fitness and getting back to aid Chelsea’s bid to climb the table and progress in the Champions League in the second half of the season and then eventually helping bring success back to the Londoners.
His determination to get back and boost Potter’s options had been noted at Chelsea with Sterling originally hoping to have made a return in Chelsea’s Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Borussia Dortmund.
He instead came back as a second-half sub against Southampton a few days later before making his first start since early January against Tottenham on Sunday.
