Fresh insight provided into Liverpool’s stance on Jurgen Klopp following Fulham defeat

An update on Jurgen Klopp’s future has been forthcoming online this afternoon, on the back of Liverpool’s latest concerning defeat.

Lemina makes the difference

The Reds were of course back in action a short time ago, in a Premier League meeting with Fulham at Anfield.

Klopp and co. headed into proceedings in desperate search of both a bounce-back performance and result, after seeing the club’s top-4 hopes dealt yet another blow en route to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea during the week.

When all was said and done on Merseyside, however, neither was forthcoming.

The latest in a string of disappointing displays eventually saw Liverpool put to the sword by a goal to nil.

The game’s telling moment arrived on the stroke of the interval, when, after dispossessing Mo Salah on the edge of the hosts’ box, Mario Lemina went on to direct a pinpoint driven effort into the far bottom corner of Alisson’s net:

Liverpool’s latest defeat leaves the champions languishing in 7th in the Premier League table, four points adrift of the top-4, despite having played a game more.

Klopp going nowhere

In turn, as tensions continue to mount at Anfield amid a historically poor spell of form, it has come as little surprise to see the finger of blame pointed in a whole host of directions.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and Andy Robertson came in for criticism on the back of their showings versus Fulham.

Another, though, who has inevitably been forced to shoulder considerable blame of late is Jurgen Klopp.

The German tactician has of course stood as a beloved character on the red half of Merseyside for some time now, but recent weeks have seen genuine question marks begin to mount over his future.

In turn, as outlined above, an update on the situation of the former Borussia Dortmund boss has this evening been forthcoming.

And, if the information proves accurate, then those keen to see Klopp handed the chance to turn things around over the months ahead need not fret.

As per the reliable James Pearce, the Liverpool hierarchy intend to remain ‘right behind’ the club’s manager, with Klopp under absolutely no danger of being sacked before the campaign’s close:
