ERLING HAALAND has reportedly rejected a mammoth £500,000-a-week contract offer from Manchester City.
The Borussia Dortmund sensation is available for a reported £64million this summer, with a host of clubs desperate to sign the 21-year-old.
One of those is Manchester City, but it’s claimed Haaland rejected a proposal from the Premier League champions last week.
Spanish outlet AS report City put forward a “big offer” to Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola and father Alfe-Inge, but it was knocked back by his entourage.
Although it’s understood Haaland’s rejection of City is “not definitive” and he could still end up joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
Sun sport though revealed earlier this month that Haaland was warming to the idea of following in his dad’s footsteps and joining City.
But in a blow to City AS suggest that Real Madrid remains to be Haaland’s preferred destination.
Haaland is said to be “still waiting” for the LaLiga side to make their move as he wants to sign for the club at the end of the current campaign.
Although the mind boggling costs that would be involved to bring Haaland to the Spanish capital have thrown a spanner in the works.
Real Madrid would prefer to wait until the summer of 2023 to sign Haaland, with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe set to join at the end of the season.
