Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili has declared his interest in getting a call-up to the Super Eagles for the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Former Lobi Stars goaltender made his intention known during his chat with South Africa football news outlet Idiski.
The lanky goalkeeper is presently rated among the safest hands in the South African premier and is already being monitored by the Super Eagles handler Jose Peseiro.
“I wish to get a call-up but it’s not compulsory. It’s not by my performance because everyone is doing well in different clubs, other goalkeepers have been doing well in their clubs.
“If you are called up to your national team, kudos to you but I wish to represent my own country. I wish to wear my country’s jersey. I wish to wear it again.
“I went there before and I wish to wear it again in a nice tournament. That’s my wish”, he said.
