Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro has disclosed that Kelechi Iheanacho will now join the rest of the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON after he completed his treatment for a muscular injury.
“Kelechi arrive Cote d’Ivoire. He has finished the treatment at Leicester City,” said Peseiro.
The striker was injured at his English club and stayed back to recover fully for the AFCON, which kicks off Saturday in Abidjan.
The Super Eagles will open their 2023 AFCON against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday 14th January at 3:00pm before taking on hosts, Ivory Coast on Thursday, 18th January and last group match against Guinea-Bissau on Monday 22nd.
