Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi has made it clear that injuries are part of the game of football though it can get someone upset sometimes.
The Nottingham Forest ace was sidelined for more than 8 weeks due to the injury he sustained in the game against Southampton.
He returned to action 2 weeks ago for the club as they continued the quest to remain in the Premier League.
Awoniyi made the statement while speaking to BBC Sports Radio and further said one should listen to the medics during the rehabilitation period.
“Football is what you love doing. Injuries are part of the game and once you find yourself missing out, you get upset sometimes. You just have to work hard and get back to fitness.
“Some injuries just take a while, like the one I had. The most important thing is to listen to the medical staff because they have the best idea and they know the best thing to do for your body”, he said.
The lanky attacker has so far scored 5 goals for the Forest this season.
