International Friendly: Future Eagles Revenge, Defeat Morocco 5-3

Nigeria’s U15 boys, nicknamed Future Eagles on Monday defeated Morocco’s U-15 team 5-3 in a friendly in the city of Kenitra, Morocco.

The Nigeria national team had lost 2-3 to Morocco U15 team last week before a sweet revenge that brought the aggregate scoreline to 7-6 in the two-legged friendly games.

Coach Patrick Bassey and assistants Hussein Lawal and Augustine Iyamu are in Morocco with 21 future stars who are eager to take their first steps in international football. The delegation is led by former Nigeria winger and captain Dr. Felix Owolabi, MON.

Up next on the schedule for the Future Eagles is to participate in the La Liga U15 tournament in Spain in April while they also compete at a World football festival for U15s sponsored by FIFA. The global festival will be hosted by Argentina between June and July.

The tour by the Future Eagles has been arranged by the Nigeria Football Federation in the framework of the Ibrahim Gusau-led administration’s vision of developing football from the grassroots, and actively providing avenues for young talents to fulfil their potential and realise their dreams.
