The hope of Nigeria’s Super Eagles getting victory over the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia was dashed in the final minute of the drab encounter.
In a game played at the Portimonse Stadium in Portugal, it was the Asian giants that netted the opening goal from set pieces after an error from the goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
Despite Nigerian dominating the game, they were unable to break down the defence line of Saudi Arabia until the introduction of Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho and Nantes winger, Moses Simon.
The Nigerian side got a leveller in the 70th minute through Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface off an assist from Simon.
Super Eagles over the game after scoring an equaliser and Iheanacho was on hand to put Nigeria ahead with a well-taken goal.
As the game drew to an end Super Eagles conceded a free kick at the edge of the box and Kanno did well to score an equaliser for the Green Falcons as the game ended 2-2.
Super Eagles’ next match will come up on Monday against Mozambique.
