Two days after their home victory in the final against Nigeria and their trophy parade on the streets of Abidjan, the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire were received by the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, on Tuesday during an official ceremony.
The President showered the entire team with massive gifts and a villa each.
Each African champion was granted a villa worth 50 million CFA francs (approximately 76,719 euros) and a bonus of 50 million CFA francs as well.
Hero of the revival from the round of 16, coach Emerse Faé is entitled to a bonus of 100 million FCFA (i.e. €153,437), while his technical staff will share the sum of 400 million FCFA (i.e. €613,748).
Finally, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) was entitled to an envelope of 300 million CFA francs (€460,311) for this third star.
