Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for March – a record-equalling seventh honour in the category.

The England captain continued to climb up the competition’s all-time goalscoring charts during a stellar month – scoring four goals and setting up two more in four top-flight matches.

Kane’s strike in a 2-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion saw him break Wayne Rooney’s record for the most away goals scored by a single player in the Premier League (95), while he also moved above Frank Lampard (177) and Thierry Henry (175) into fifth in the all-time scoring charts with 178.

Kane’s feats have now been recognised with the Player of the Month award, with the striker fending off competition from Bukayo Saka, Dejan Kulusevski, Ivan Toney, Trevoh Chalobah, Kai Havertz, Matty Cash and Andy Robertson to win the honour.

Since picking up his first POTM award in January 2015, Kane has now moved level with Sergio Aguero‘s record, with the March 2022 honour representing his seventh in the category and his first since December 2017.

Kane joins Michail Antonio, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, David de Gea, Raheem Sterling, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold as winners of the award in 2021-22.
