With just two matches into the season, manager of La Liga Smartbank side SD Ponferradina, Alberto Rivas, has hailed Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali.
The former Golden Eaglets skipper joined the second-tier side this summer after his contract termination with SD Huesca.
The skilful player has been able to play an active role as the club has secured a maximum of 6 points from two games.
“Nwakali is the best thing that has happened to Ponferadina in a very long time,”Rivas said after the game.
“He has good vision of the game, good coverage and exquisite touch on the ball.
“Top of the class,” the manager said.
Nwakali was part of the Super Eagles team to the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
