Lionel Messi has been giving another award by an international football Award organization.

Messi bags this milestone after having a successful 2022 campaign, round up in Qatar FIFA World Cup.

Kevin De Bruyne, winner of the two last IFFHS Awards of The World’s Best Playmaker (2020 and 2021), took only the third place in the Ranking 2022.

He was surpassed at the second place by the IFFHS Award winner 2018, Luka Modric and for the Award 2022 by 4 times IFFHS Playmaker Award Winner (2015, 2016, 2017, 2019), Lionel Messi !

Argentina’s World Champion captain has so won his 5th Award for IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker (the record because Xavi won 4 between 2007 and 2011) . Lionel Messi was again acclaimed for this Award in 2022, adding 170 points, 55 more than Modric and 130 than De Bruyne.

Messi won so his third Award in 2022 after IFFHS World’s Best Player and IFFHS World’s Best International Goal Scorer Awards announced in the last days. Lionel Messi has so added already 13 IFFHS annual Awards in his career, Cristiano Ronaldo (8 Awards) is second in the total IFFHS Awards All Time ranking.
