Romelu Lukaku will undergo a medical with Inter Milan next week after Chelsea agreed to a season-long loan deal. The Belgian striker endured an inconsistent campaign at Stamford Bridge following his £97.5m move from Inter last summer.
Inter will pay a fee of €8m plus add-ons and talks over Lukaku’s salary have almost concluded.
The Serie A giant has no option or obligation to buy next summer. Lukaku will undergo a medical next week and an announcement will follow shortly after, per the Evening Standard.
The 29-year-old spoke of his desire to return to Inter earlier in the season. “I want to say a big apology to the Inter fans because I think the way I left should have been different,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more.”
