“Master of Football” Harry Kane scores twice, but exits holding knee as Spurs ease past Dinamo Zagreb

Spurs Joy

Tottenham put one food firmly in the quarter finals of the Europa League after seeing off a resilient Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 this evening.

Harry Kane scored twice, but also exited after seeming to hurt his knee after being hacked down. He was seen icing it after coming off, but Spurs fans will be hoping he came off merely as a precaution with the London Derby coming up on the weekend.

He made no mention of it as he tweeted post match, which Spurs fans will hope is a good sign.

Kane gave Spurs the lead in the 25th minute when he was in the right place to put the ball in the net after Erik Lamela hit the inside of the post.

The second, which came in the 70th minute, was a gift after a terrible attempted clearance from Kevin Theophile-Catherine was dispatched into the bottom corner.

However there was to be no second European hat-trick of the season after he was replaced following a challenge from Arijan Ademi.

Master of football

His performance drew praise from Dinamo Zagreb’s manager, Zoran Mamic.

Jose Mourinho said in his post match discussion with BT Sport:

When asked about Harry Kane’s potential injury he replied.

We will have to wait until Sunday to see if Kane is ok, but based on Mourinho’s words, it looks like he will be ready for the Derby and to keep his side in the race for the top 4.
