The Federation of Algerian Football has waded into a match-fixing crisis rocking its local league.
FAF through a press release published on Monday said.
“A complaint for defamation and match arrangement was filed by a club president with the territorially competent judicial authorities .”
The matter remains unclear, but it is indicated that it concerns a match in the Inter-region division, also known as D3”, it said
The Federation continues by emphasizing the need to maintain justice and respect the regulations in force.
“The FAF is the guarantor of respect for the laws and regulations in force within Algerian and international football. ”
In addition, the body reaffirms its commitment to defending the sporting spirit and to sanctioning any behavior deemed contrary to it: “
FAF reaffirms its commitment to preserving the sporting spirit and integrity internally and internationally. outside the fields and to sanction any behavior contrary to the sporting spirit and the integrity of the competitions.
The press release concludes on a note of call for collective responsibility.
“ The FAF is carefully following the course of the case with the judicial authorities.
It will take the necessary measures based on the results of the investigation”, it concluded.
