Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he and his representatives “talked a little bit” with Liverpool regarding a potential summer transfer.
After a drawn-out saga, it was revealed on Saturday that Mbappe had shunned a move to Real Madrid to sign a new three-year contract at Parc des Princes.
Throughout the season, speculation suggested that it was a two-horse race for the World Cup winner’s signature, something that largely appears to be the case given comments made by the 23-year-old in recent days.
However, Mbappe has acknowledged that there was interest from Premier League outfit Liverpool, even if they were never viewed as a likely destination.
Speaking to The Telegraph, the Frenchman said: “We talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit.
“I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her.
“It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club.”
Last week, it was claimed that Mbappe’s representatives had reached out to Liverpool to inform the Merseyside club that they would not be signing the attacker.
