The future of Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze seems to have been sorted out after his Spanish LaLiga team, Villarreal left him out of their squad for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against German side Hannover 96.
Villarreal’s preseason preparations are continuing and Chukwueze played as a starter in their last friendly, but he will not take any part in their game against the Bundesliga outfit today (Sunday) amid rumours he is close to joining Italian Serie A top guns AC Milan.
Di Marzio is reporting that Milan are confident of closing the deal for Chukwueze, who is ‘getting closer and closer’ to joining the Rossoneri and the deal could close between Monday and Tuesday.
The latest idea from Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada is to include Matteo Gabbia in the negotiation to lower the amount requested by the Spanish club (about €20m, bonuses to be defined).
After the painful sale of Sandro Tonali, Milan are having a transfer window showing serious intent to improve the squad as much as possible to try and compete on multiple fronts.
