Italian Serie A club, AC Milan have closed the deal with Villarreal for Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze, claim Sky Sport Italia, so all that remains are red tape details to be resolved.
The transfer has effectively been completed, with both clubs and the player agreeing terms in every area.
It was believed that the final details would be sorted out today and contracts exchanged, which still seems to be the schedule.
According to the latest reports on Monday evening, the only things remaining are simple bureaucratic matters.
The 24-year-old is a Nigeria international and therefore does not have an EU passport, so this makes the transfer a little more complicated in terms of red tape.
Chukwueze is set to arrive in Italy on Tuesday and then undergo his medical on Wednesday.
After completing his medical on Wednesday, Chukwueze will sign a five-year contract with the Serie A side which will see him earn €4m per season.
Once all of the paperwork has been completed for Chukwueze, he will fly out to the United States of America where he can join up with the rest of the Milan squad on their pre-season tour.
His contract with Villarreal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign and the deal is believed to be done for €20m plus another €8m in various performance-related bonuses.
Chukwueze will be the latest addition to the Milan attack with Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor.
