Shooting Stars Football Club striker, Adekunle Ayobami while reacting to his side’s win over Kano Pillars on Matchday 9, has stated that what is more important is they are getting the needed results and got the maximum points against one of the best teams in the league.
The former ASPAC centre forward who has scored three goals in the current campaign, mentioned that the goals will come and that he is more contended and will choose team victory over his aspiration.
In his words, “My primary role is to score goals but I will celebrate the team’s victory because this is very significant and with this win against Kano Pillars, we are keeping our aspirations to finish as one of the top three teams at the end of the season. “So for us, 3SC securing a vital win against one of the league’s giants and one of the most successful teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League is good for our confidence.
“I believe the goals will come and I will get goals as the league progresses, as my ambition is to get double-digit goals at the end of the season,” concludes Ayobami.
Shooting Stars will now face Lobi Stars in an away tie in Lafia on Sunday.
Lobi and Shooting Stars are currently placed second and third respectively with both teams amassing 17 points so far from 9 matches. The two sides will be looking to edge each other to stamp their supremacy in the current football league campaign.
