According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Newcastle United have been linked with Osimhen for a while now, and they could make a move for his services in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all keen on having the Nigerian international in their ranks, the Magpies are ready to rival them in the pursuit of his signatures.
The 25-year-old is considered to be amongst the best forwards in world football at this stage. The Nigerian striker has been scoring goals for fun over the last 24 months, and there is huge interest in him from across Europe.
Clubs were keen on signing him last summer, but he ended up staying. However, that might not happen this time around, even though he has over two years left on his deal, as everyone expects to leave after the end of the season.
There is a €130 million release clause in his contract that could lead to his departure. Napoli will surely be hoping that one of the interested clubs comes along and triggers the clause. According to the report, Newcastle United could be the club that ends up doing so.
