Former General Secretary, Nigeria Football Federation, Fanny Amun has called on the League Manager to continue with the abridged league version in the next two season.
The 1993 FIFA U17 World Cup winning coach in an exclusive interview with www.bsnsports.com.ng argued that adopting abridged league in the next two seasons is the best for the Nigeria football.
He said, “The IMC so far so good has done so well. The abridged league has saved not only the career of the players but also the funds the clubs must have been budgeted for a straight league.”
“With what the IMC achieved in the just concluded season, they should still be experimenting the abridged League for two or more seasons. Let the General Assembly of the League sanction the continuation of abridged league because I believe very strongly that it will reduce the risk from poor transport system in Nigeria, reduce the risk from the insecurity.
“For me, the Abridged League has come to stay.” He concluded.
The Nigeria Premier Football League went through Abridged League in 2023 where Enyimba International emerged champions in the NPFL Super 6 Playoffs in Lagos.
