The Matchday 6 (mid-week) fixtures billed for Wednesday, ended with some interesting and late-minute victories recorded in different match centers in the country.
However, it brought a different spark with late-minute victories for Kwara United and Sunshine Stars, as both teams came from behind to pick vital wins.
While Remo Stars, Kano Pillars secured comfortable home wins with Akwa United picked their first three points of the season after five matches played.
In Ilorin, Kwara United came back from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win over Sporting Lagos, at the Ilorin Sports Complex Stadium.
Sporting took the lead just within 59 seconds, through Jonathan Alukwu who scored with a brilliant finish inside the box to make it 1-0.
But Kwara United responded with two goals from Ejeh Isiah and Ifeanyi Odiiannga, in the 45th and 85th minutes.
While in Akure, Michael Olalusi converted from the spot in the 90+5 minutes to help Sunshine Stars secure a 2-1 win against Abia Warriors.
The visitors took an early lead through Osonugwu Adejoh within 15 minutes. Before Ekerette Udom leveled it 1-1 for the Akure Gunners in the 38th minute.
The hosts were awarded a penalty in the final minutes of added time when Abia Warriors defender Collins Nwoburuoke handled the ball inside his box.
As Olalusi scored the penalty to give Sunshine Stars a 2-1 win.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars thrashed Shooting Stars 3-0, in the South-West Derby, at the Remo Stars Stadium.
Through a brace by Sikiru Alimi and another goal from Ahmed Akinyele, who scored in the 20th minute to give the Daniel Ogunmodede-led side an early lead.
Before Alimi converted from the spot kick in the 40th minute, and then added the second in the 63rd minute from a close range.
In Kaduna, Niger Tornadoes played out a goalless draw with champions Enyimba FC.
In Kano, Pillars returned to winning ways with a massive 3-0 victory over Bayelsa United, at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
Through goals from Mubarak Sani, Rabiu Ali, and Abba Adam, who came in as a second-half substitute by adding his name to the score sheet.
In Owerri, it ended dramatically as Rivers United came from behind to hold Heartland FC to a 1-1 draw, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
The Naze Millionaires took the lead through Onyekachi Okafor, in the 18th minute. Before Farouk Mohammed struck a spectacular free kick to level it at 1-1 for the Pride of Rivers.
In Jos, 10-man Plateau United secured a narrow 1-0 win against Katsina United, at the New Jos Stadium.
Through Chris Nwaeze, who slotted home and helped the Mbwas Mangut-led side to pick the maximum points.
In Uyo, Akwa United secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 home win over Gombe United, at the Eket Stadium.
Kufre Ebong scored the match-winner for the Fatai Osho-led side in the 35th minute which ended their five matches without a win.
