The 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, continued on Saturday with three Matchday 3 games played across three venues in the country, with Bendel Insurance been the only team to secure maximum points of the day.
In Benin, Bendel Insurance secured their second home victory in a row, with a narrow 1-0 win over Plateau United, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The match winner was scored inside 10 minutes, through midfielder Benjamin Tanimu, who converted from the spot kick to secured the maximum points for the Benin Arsenal.
While in Akure, Heartland FC came from behind as they held Sunshine Stars to a 1-1 draw, at the Akure Sports Complex Stadium.
Michael Olalusi scored from the spot in the 42 minutes, to put the Edith Agoye led side ahead.
But in the second half, Patrick Nwogbara levelled it 1-1 for the Naze millionaires in the 75 minutes.
In the 87 minutes, Sunshine Stars got a golden opportunity which would have helped them to secure three points, but forward Ibrahim Yusuf missed from the spot kick at both side shared the points.
In Katsina, Lobi Stars continued on their three games unbeaten run as they held Tony Bolus-led Katsina United side to a goalless draw at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium.
The Pride of Benue are yet to lose a game this season in their opening three matches.
