Nigeria’s track Queen, Blessing Okagbare ran a sub 11 at the second Diamond League of the Season in Doha to come second at the 100 metres women event on Friday
Okagbare clocked a Season Best (SB) of 10.90s to finish behind Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who had a time of 10.84s (+ 1.1ms) and ahead of America’s Javianne Oliver who 11.03s to come third.
The Nigerian started a bit slow towards the 70 metres, but made amends to finish well.
The former Olympic silver medalist had clocked 11.57s to finish fifth in the first Diamond League of the season last week at Gateshead.
Speaking about the race, Okagbare said: “It was okay, I made some errors, but I am happy that I am healthy and now I’ll go back to work hard. This race, I was focused on me & my trainings, I didn’t care about the other athletes. The organization is so great, I am happy to be here”
This is her second sub 11s this season after clocking 10.97s at the USATF Grand Prix in Oregon
