The boss of the South African Football Association Danny Jordan has insisted that Desiree Ellis will remain as the head of the Banyana Banyana.
The current contract of Ellis ended on the day they crashed out of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The African champions lost to Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the final round of the qualifier 1-0 on aggregate.
During the Executive meeting on Monday afternoon, Jordan confirmed that the contract of the coach will be extended.
“No, of course, we wanted to qualify for the Olympics in Paris, it is a setback but in football, it happens.
You get setbacks but you must continue, that’s how football operates there are continuous competitions.
So, our next step is to go back to the WAFCON and to go and defend our title,” he said.
Ellis’ next challenge will be qualifying and winning the WAFCON tournament in Morocco.
