The International Olympic Committee ( IOC) and Local Organising Committee ( LOC) have unveiled the mascot for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

According to the chairman of the LOC, Julie Matikhine, the mascot was designed to suit both the Olympics and the Paralympics games.

He further said the mascot was designed to embody the French spirit.

“Making a mascot for the sake of making a mascot does not add anything.

“Rather than looking for a totem animal, we wanted them (the mascots) to embody the French spirit, carry an ideal and, through it, transmit the values of our country, a part of our history”, he said.
