Super Eagles duo of Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo will be hoping to dent Arsenal’s title ambition as Southampton tackle the Gunners in today’s Premier League game.
Recall that Onuachu, who has made eight appearance, is yet to score a debut goal for Southampton since making the move from Genk in the winter transfer window.
However, the Nigerian international will be desperate to open his goal account against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
On the other hand, his compatriot, Aribo will be seeking to earn a starting shirt for Southampton against Arsenal.
Aribo has made 20 appearances and netted two goals this season.
Interestingly, the Gunners have dropped points in their last two league matches, which has allowed second-placed Manchester City to close the gap to four points with a game in hand, while Southampton sit bottom of the division, four points from the safety of 17th position.
Southampton are actually unbeaten in their last two games against Arsenal, picking up four points in the process, but they suffered a 3-0 loss when they last travelled to North London in December 2021, with Alexandre Lacazette, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes on the scoresheet.
