Newly appointed manager of Southampton Ruben Selles has expressed confidence in the ability of Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu.
The lanky striker joined the Saints during the January transfer window from the Belgium League side KRC Genk.
Even though he’s yet to find the net, Onuachu contributed immensely to the team and was instrumental in their victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
“Paul Onuachu who is new in the Premier League and as soon as he arrived, we throw him into the starting XI against Wolves and Chelsea.
The Premier League is the best competition in the world so sometimes it takes time. It’s not easy to arrive and make an impact.
I think Paul [Onuachu] will find his game, hopefully, he’ll find it sooner. We need to give him the tools”, he said during a press conference.
Southampton will face Leicester City this weekend as they continue to fight for their survival in the league.
