Osimhen Arrives Nigeria Ahead Of 2023 AFCON

African Player of The Year, Victor Osimhen has arrived in Nigeria ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.

According to Italian outlet, TuttoNapoli, the Super Eagles striker left Napoli after SC Napoli Thursday’s training session.

With his arrival, Osimhen would be the first Super Eagles player to have arrived for the competition as the team look forward to camping in the United Arab Emirates.

He made his AFCON debut at 2019 AFCON hosted by Egypt where he came in as substitute to replace Odion Ighalo in the Third Place match with Tunisia. The match remained the only game he has played at AFCON as he missed the 2021 edition in Cameroon due to injury.

Osimhen will first link up with his family in Lagos before joining the Super Eagles with the aim of winning the trophy for the fourth time.

Nigeria will start their AFCON campaign with Equatorial Guinea on 14th January before taking on the hosts, Cote D’Ivoire on 18th with the last group match against Guinea Bissau on 22nd January, 2024.
