Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen may not take part in the Nigeria versus Libya matchday 3 and 4 of the 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier.
This follows injury he sustained when he featured for his club in the Turkish League last weekend. It was so much that Galatasaray, taking orecautionary measure had to leave him out of their UEFA Europa League match on Thursday night.
This will make him a major doubt for forthcoming Super Eagles 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Libya. The team’s interim coach, Austin Eguavoen who led Nigeria to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and 0-0 draw versus Rwanda will be unsettled with one of his major players set to miss two crucial games in the 2025 AFCON qualifier.
Osimhen injured his left hamstring during a Turkish Super Lig clash at Kasimpasa at the weekend.
The Napoli loanee played down the severity of the injury, but Galatasaray announced Tuesday that Osimhen has begun treatment. Galatasaray did not risk Osimhen in their 2-2 Latvian club Rigas FS on Thursday.
