Nigeria’s Super Falcons are on the brink of crashing out of the Olympic Games in Paris following their defeat to Spain.
Despite trying to contain the World champions, it was Putela who netted the only goal of the game in the 85th minute.
The game started with the Falcons trying their best to match the Spaniard but they could only sustain the tempo in the first half.
Spain proved to be the better side in the second half and pegged Falcons back into their halve.
The much-anticipated goal came 5 minutes from time and all the effort of the Nigerian side to level up proved abortive
The defeat means, the Falcons will have to beat Japan with a high margin and hope to get a favourable result from the other group to be picked as one of the best losers.
