Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has said that he’s looking forward to seeing Flying Eagles that would be invited to Super Eagles, as he urged the Ladan Bosso team to win the 2023 U20 AFCON in Egypt.
The Portuguese coach, who on Tuesday morning watched the Flying Eagles thrash Capital City FA 4-0 in a tune-up game at the Practice Pitch of the Abuja Stadium.
“I came out to see the team’s training, see the players and to give them my moral support,” said Peseiro.
“I also intend to see their international friendly game against Zambia on Friday, as I need to observe the players.
Asked about the chances of some Flying Eagles stars make his team, “Off course, I see a few players in the Flying Eagles progress to the Super Eagles.
” For them to progress to the Super Eagles, they must do their best in the AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt, and after that we can begin to see the best talents that will be given a look at.”
Meanwhile, the tune-up game against the Junior Chipolopolo fixed for Saturday has now been brought forward by 24hours.
The Zambian travelling party will travel on Wednesday from Lusaka, as they are expected to arrive in Abuja on Thursday.
Flying Eagles who are gunning for an 8th AFCON U20 title are in Group A with host Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal, and will play their matches in Cairo.
Zambia on its part is in Group C where they will play Gambia, Tunisia and Benin in Alexandria.
The semifinalist in Egypt will all qualify for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia from May 20th to June 11th.
