Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro has stated that all hands must be on deck for Nigeria to beat Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
The three times African champions will open their 2023 African Nations Cup campaign with a clash with Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, 14th January 2024.
Speaking after their first training session in Cote d’Ivoire, the Portuguese tactician said, “despite the long trip, we did training today. It’s not a tactical training but only for recovery to prepare us we’ll to tomorrow’s practice.
“Of course AFCON is a short and difficult tournament. Our first opponents, Equatorial Guinea did better than us in the last AFCON and a good team but we want to win. We need to be focused 100%. All the players are fit, they all participated in the training and to win, we must put in maximum force. In the match against Equatorial Guinea and the next, we can’t afford to make mistakes. It’s a collective efforts to win the first match
“There’s no excuse about the weather, we need to put our focus on the games and do our best. All our focus is on the first match.” He concluded.
