Despite scoring one of the goals that gave Nottingham Forest a 2-0 win over West Ham United, the manager of the team Nuno Espirito Santo has stated that Taiwo Awoniyi is still struggling with fitness.
The Nigerian International who has just recovered from injury started the game against the Hammer and he was able to give a good account of himself.
“Strikers are about scoring but for us, it’s more than that. They have to work, they have to read the game and when the moment comes put it inside the net.
We know he’s struggling in terms of fitness, it’s up to us to manage him”, the manager said.
Awoniyi missed the African Cup of Nations due to injury he sustained during a Premier League game.
