FC Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembélé, will see his contract expire in June, and Paris Saint-Germain continues to be linked to the 24-year-old winger. Dembélé remains in conflict with Barcelona management after several unsuccessful negotiations on a contract extension.
According to COPE journalist, Dani Gil, (via Culture PSG), the capital club, like this past January transfer window, is still interested in Dembélé and wants to sign him on a free deal this summer.
Les Parisiens don’t want to miss an opportunity to sign a player that’s only 24 years old, regardless of the outcome of the contract discussion with Kylian Mbappé. So whether the 23-year-old extends or not, the latter does not influence the transfer of his French compatriot.
Despite rumors suggesting that Dembélé would serve as a replacement for Mbappé, it’s not the case. Instead, the COPE journalist reports that PSG would bring Dembélé for free to replace Angel Di Maria.
The Spanish outlet states that the Argentine will possibly not be retained by the Ligue 1 side despite having an option on his contract to extend his deal for another season, which expires in June. Di Maria would like to remain with PSG, but they seem less motivated.
