Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly in discussions with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a move to the French giants during next summer’s transfer window.
The 33-year-old joined Chelsea from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, and he has represented the Blues on four occasions since his arrival, finding the back of the net twice.
Aubameyang has netted in his last two outings against Crystal Palace and AC Milan, and he has a contract with the London giants until the summer of 2024.
However, according to Foot Mercato, the forward could make the move to PSG next summer, with the Ligue 1 giants already in discussions over a deal in 2023.
The report claims that Aubameyang is already making plans to move to Paris, with the attacker determined to represent the Blues before the end of his career.
Aubameyang played under now PSG boss Christophe Galtier at Saint-Etienne earlier in his career, and the duo are said to be keen on a reunion in the French capital.
Les Parisiens are still in the market for a back-up striker and are believed to view the former Gabon international as the ideal acquisition ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Aubameyang scored 92 goals in 163 appearances for Arsenal before leaving the Gunners in January due to the breakdown of his relationship with the club’s head coach Mikel Arteta.
The forward had a successful spell at Barcelona, scoring 13 goals in the second half of last season, but he was pushed down the pecking order following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
Thomas Tuchel played a key role in Aubameyang moving to Chelsea, but the German was sacked as head coach last month after an indifferent start to the campaign.
“I’m really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting,” Aubameyang told Chelsea’s official website when his transfer was confirmed.
PSG signed Hugo Ekitike on loan from Reims before the end of the summer transfer window to boost their attacking options, but the 20-year-old is yet to score in six league appearances for the club.
There is also uncertainty surrounding the future of Lionel Messi, with the Argentine’s contract in the French capital due to expire at the end of June.
Barcelona are said to be working to bring the experienced attacker back to Camp Nou, although PSG are still battling to keep hold of the 35-year-old.
Aubameyang registered Chelsea’s second of the evening against Milan on Wednesday evening before Reece James rounded off the scoring in the 61st minute of the contest.
