Remo Stars sit atop the Nigerian Premier Football League as we approached Christmas, and will have mixed emotions in their quest to win their first top-flight crown after putting two goals past a stubborn Lobi Stars on Thursday.
It was a tough MatchDay 15 encounter at the Remo Stars Stadium, as the top of the table NPFL clash lived up to it’s hype, with fans held spell bound.
No goal was scored in regulation time but the Sky Blue Stars who left it late had Adams Olamilekan to thank for his brilliance.
Red-hot striker Sikiru Alimu scored a glazing header from a corner kick delivery by Adams Olamilekan in the first minute of added time.
The Sky Blue Stars doubled their goal advantage in the 4th minute of added time, after Adams Olamilekan pounced on a loose ball in the area and slam home a second.
As it stands, Remo Stars are top of the NPFL log with 29 points as we head to Christmas and could extend their good run if they beat struggling Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Thursday next week.
