Upon their return to the country, Rivers United goalkeeper Victor Sochima has admitted that their best wasn’t enough to qualify them for the semi-final.
The Rivers United safest hand said the team has shifted their focus on their Federation Cup Round of 64 tie with Enyimba International and winning their outstanding Nigeria Professional Football League matches to defend the title they won last season.
The Nigeria champions crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday after playing out a goalless draw against the Young Africans of Tanzania and lost out 2-0 on aggregate.
” Our best wasn’t enough to give us the semi-final ticket.
We felt bad that we couldn’t get the job done but lost it at home, that is why we gave a good account of ourselves in Tanzania.
It wasn’t an easy place to go, we went there we fought and we came back with a clean sheet. We got a Federation Cup against Enyimba on Thursday against Enyimba and is not an easy game to play.
“It’s a game that can go either way. We still have our league to defend and also FA Cup to play, so we are prepared for those games”, he said.
