The Federation of Senegal Football has decided not to renew the contract of the Teranga Lions coach Aliou Cisse.
The former Paris St Germain player has been in charge of the team since 2015 and led the team to the African Cup of Nations title in 2021.
He came under strong criticism during the Matchday one of the AFCON 2025 after they were held to a 1-1 draw in Dakar by Burkina Faso.
The football body in Senegal was supposed to offer him a new deal in August, but they have come out to announce their intention not to renew it.
“The FSF would like to thank Aliou CISSE for his good collaboration and his brilliant results as the head of the various national teams that he has had to lead since he arrived in 2015 and wishes him every success for the future”, the Federation said.
