Southampton interim boss Ruben Selles revealed how playing against Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu gave him an advantage.
Onuachu who joined the Saints in the January transfer window for £18m is yet to register a goal despite starting since Selles took over from the sacked Nathan Jones.
Recall Onuachu played against Selles when he was an assistant at Copenhagen in Denmark.
“With Paul, I have an advantage,” Selles insisted, per the Daily Echo.
“Paul played against my team in Denmark. It was an easy conversation to have with him about what to expect from him.”
He continued: “With Nathan, in terms of being the person to have picked him up, I think he is an incredible player that can make an impact in the Premier League.
“It’s not been difficult. It’s been more task-related, telling him what we need from him and where we see him now and possibly in the future.”
