Reports from the camp of Sunshine Stars of Akure indicates that fans and supporters of the club protested to demand for the sack of the Team’s General Manager, Prince Tunde Ogunja.
It wasb scooped that the protesters were seen displaying placards with various inscriptions, “Ogunja must go SOS”, “Ogunja is a pest to football development in Ondo State, “Ogunja is a drunkard,” Ogunja pays premium on money more than the work he is assigned to do.”

The leader of the protesters, Lucky Beniah disclosed that Sunshine Stars FC are currently 13th on the 2023/24 NPFL table due to the negligence of the General Manager.
He alleged that the General Manager is not traveling with the team for away matches, after collecting full travelling allowances, even during home matches, he seldomly appear.
The allegations against him include; “imposition of players on coaching crew and his non challant attitude towards the team.”
One of the protesters, Taju Eniolorunda said: “The General Manager has caused more division in the team than unity.
“To salvage the team from the current situation, the best thing is for the General Manager to leave.
“Position of General Manager is a sensitive one and not for an incompetent individual like him, we want Sunshine Stars to return to its old glory days.”
