The management of Sunshine Stars has dangled a cash sum of N500,000 and individual cash award to boost the team’s morale ahead of the MatchDay 13 Nigeria Premier Football League game with Bendel Insurance.
This was following the attack by suspected hoodlums on the team bus of Sunshine Stars enroute Ore-Benin expressway to honour the game with Bendel Insurance in Benin.
The General Manager of the club, Tunde Ogunja reiterated the management’s commitment to the players well-being and development at all times while encouraging them to defeat all obstacles ahead of the encounter.
Responding on behalf of the players, team captain, Abe Sunday appreciated the management for the prompt support and encouragement.
He noted that the players will recover from the mental stress and get ready to put up their best against Bendel Insurance.
Earlier, the management team were at the intensive care unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital to sympathisze with one of the victims who sustained serious gun shot wound.
