Former Super Eagles captain Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha has said that Nigeria does not deserve to feature at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar if the Eagles fail to beat Ghana at home in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a television chat monitored in Lagos, Okocha described Friday night’s goalless draw in Kumasi as a huge result for the Eagles, adding that they have to win in Abuja to book their flight to Qatar in November.

“The draw was a huge result for Nigeria, I fancy our chances of now winning at home to qualify for the World Cup.  “We now know what we have to do to be at the World Cup – win in Abuja. “If we don’t win in front of our fans on Tuesday, then we don’t deserve to be at the World Cup.”

Should there still be no goals when both teams clash again, they will play extra-time before a penalty shootout. But Nigeria should avoid a draw, as the FIFA away goal rule seems to be applicable in World Cup qualifications
