Super Eagles: Libya FA Files Protest Against CAF Sanctions

The Libyan Football Federation LFF) acting president, Nasser Al-Suwaie, has said that tjr country has submitted an official protest to the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football against the decision of the Disciplinary Committee over the 2nd leg fixture against Nigeria.

The Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Libya 3points, 3 goals and a fine of fifty thousand dollars, following the events that took place at Labraq Airport, where the Super Eagles were held in an hostage situation for more than 15hours after having it’s charter flight diverted few minutes to landing Benghazi.

Al-Suwaie said that the Libyan Football Federation supported the protest file with documents and evidence indicating that the Libyan Federation did not commit any violation that would require the imposition of any penalties.

Nasser Al-Suwaie added that if the Libyan Federation’s protest is rejected, the case file will be referred to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
