The Super Eagles will each pocket a whopping $30,000 after they went past the group stage of the on-going AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

The three-time African champions finished runners-up in Group A with seven points from three matches behind group winners Equatorial Guinea

The previous arrangement was for each player to be paid $5,000-a-match bonus all the way to the championship game.

However, a top official has now told SCORENigeria that this has since been jettisioned with a lump sum payment for each round of the competition.

There is therefore an additional fixed bonus for the team after they went past Cameroon 2-0 in the AFCON Round of 16 and the same will apply for the quarterfinal against Angola Friday.

These bonuses were contained in the special budget for the AFCON approved by the Federal Government.

However, the players are yet to receive these bonuses.
