Team Nigeria on Wednesday landed in Tokyo with 28 athletes. This includes athletes from wrestling, athletics and taekwondo and their officials with Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) officials.
The team arrived Tokyo 12:45am before heading for Kisarazu by bus. Meanwhile, Team Angola, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia were also on the flight.
Arriving at the Airport, the Nigeria contingent was held back for four hours at the Airport going through filling of the online Covid-19 application and also immigration and customs checking. After succesful checks, they had to wait for the results of the Covid-19 tests to be sure of their status.
However, if they are tested negative, they will leave Airpor for their camp in Kizarasu.
Nigeria will participate in nine games with 58 athletes to contest for medals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic.
