Olofin Moses, known as Evra, a player representing Jordan FC Ogbomoso, tragically collapsed and passed away while participating in a match against Day Bright FC.
Eyewitnesses recounted that during the Coaches Cup competition, Moses suddenly collapsed despite not being in direct contact with the ball or any players. Despite immediate efforts to revive him, he could not be resuscitated.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECHTH), and his body has been taken to a morgue.
In response to this devastating event, Alhaji Bashiru Abdulazeez, Chairman of NFCA Ogbomoso Council, announced the suspension of all football activities in the town until further notice, stating, “Coaches Cup has been suspended and no training activities in all our clubs until Wednesday 28th February to mourn the departed soul.”
Coach Ayoola Ayantoye David, also known as FÉHLÉ, expressed shock and grief over Moses’ sudden passing, emphasizing that Moses appeared healthy and jovial before the match. He described Moses as a committed and supportive player, highlighting his financial contributions and encouragement to the team.
